Mass Witness

This map plots what people have noticed, felt, or stumbled across while paying attention to where they are. Each point marks a response to a prompt — a moment, image, or idea rooted in Cleveland’s layered ground. It’s not comprehensive, and it’s not fixed. It’s a growing sketch of what emerges when you tune into your surroundings as something you’re part of — not separate from. Drawing on ideas of spacetimemattering (Barad) and place as event (Massey), this map treats place as something made — again and again — through attention, relation, and response.
