Making Room is a co-created project that works across theatre, sound and visual practice to explore how people move through and shape the places they live.

Developed through workshops in St. Clair Superior (Ward 8), Cleveland, the project gathers stories, images and voices from lived experience. These are developed into shared creative forms. Writing, street essays, visual making and sound come together as a live, participatory work for IngenuityFest. A core group of stewards supports the work throughout, helping shape and carry it into its public moment.

IN THE ROOM: The project is led by a cross-disciplinary team of artists and producers working collaboratively across all phases. Rebecca Groth, a multi-disciplinary artist and producer, supports delivery, community connectivity and participant experience, alongside Naomi Lord as practice-based researcher and producer.

Sound and collective voice development are led by Ben Smith and Angus K. Williams (CARAMEL), working across composition, recording and integration. Kadijah Wingo, a theatre-maker, producer and stand-up comedian, leads performance, writing and dramaturgical development, while Aaron D. Williams (aawful aaron) develops the visual language through street essay and image-making processes.
